The ambassador of Russia in Belarus Mr. Alexander Surikov has spoken publicly presenting the provocative declarations on the illegitimate referendum in Belarus which will secure the annexation of Belarus by Russia. This referendum would be launched in order to adopt the so-called “constitutional act” and to secure the liquidation of the sovereignty of Belarus through the manipulations of the unification with Russia. Mr. Surikov has told: (newspaper Belgazeta printed in Belarus, December 11, 2006, http://belgazeta.by) as follows:

“The Constitutional act is almost ready. The Belarusan authorities have only to make a political decision in order to carry on the referendum. “Moscow is ready” to do this political move… We have no doubts about the results of the poll even today. The ordinary people have the real nostalgia for the USSR. Only the national elite is against the “reunification of the Slavic peoples”.

(These declarations are published as well in the Russian newspaper Vremya Novostey, www.vremya.ru, December 7, 2006).

Thus the ambassador of a foreign country has violated his status and has spoken using the language of the anti-Belarusan agents and propaganda. Besides that the foreign ambassador is interfering to the internal affairs of Belarus because he appeals the selected groups of the Belarusan population and at the same time negatively treats the Belarusan elite. This is the attempt to provoke the disaccord in our society.

In accordance with the international rules this ambassador has to be deported from Belarus urgently because of his declarations and propaganda against the sovereignty of Belarus. We are skeptical that the acting pro-Moscow Belarusan authorities would demand the deportation of the Russian ambassador. But the Belarusan society has just expressed this demand. The ambassador of Russia A. Surikov has to leave the territory of Belarus.
