February 13, 2005 the Soim of the Belarusan Popular Front «Adradzennie» and the Conservative Christian Party - BPF took place in Minsk. The Soim has heard the report by Mr. Zianon Pazniak, Chairman of the Belarusan Popular Front «Adradzennie» and the Conservative Christian Party - BPF — «They Are Trying to Drive the Belarusan People into a Deadlock»:
«We see that Moscow is preparing some variants of a plan of the quickly occupation of Belarus. Doing it Russia would like to avoid the campaign of presidential elections. They are accentuating their plan on the introducing of the Russian currency in Belarus. Because of that Russia is carrying on a subversive operation based on the new tax of the complementary value and destroying totally the Belarusan economy, commerce and business. Russia is trying to drive the Belarusan people into a deadlock basing its policy on the economical aggression and propagandistic brainwashing. They would like to open the door of trap for the Belarusan people and let it enter this trap under the pretext of its salvation.
Russia regards the so-called «constitutional act» of the illegitimate «united state of Belarus and Russia» as the method in order to introduce the Russian currency in Belarus. They are trying to force our people to approve this «act». It is completely impossible to carry on this affair with the «act» as a legal political action. The essence of this political action is illegal. There is not any legal method to carry it on. Because of that Russia and the Minsk regime are destroying the Belarusan economy. But if they would not provoke the servile instinct in our society in order to force it to look for salvation in Russia they could try to use other illegal methods (instead of the «referendum») in order to pass the «act» and to introduce the Russian currency. For example, they could pass the «act» in the Lukashenkaв’s illegitimate pseudo-parliament («chambers»). We have to remember that this is the occupation and that Moscow is carrying on an aggression against Belarus. This policy cannot by legitimate.
But this is a risky method - to provoke the destabilization of the Belarusan society and the collapse of our economy and then to drive our people into Russia using the propaganda. It is possible to provoke a revolution in Belarus. But this method witnesses that the Russian KGBism is basing its policy on the slave mentality and the national blindness of certain categories of the Belarusan society. It is possible that Moscow and its Putinism will miscalculate and collapse definitively.
The Russian KGBism and its Minsk regime are driving the Belarusan people into the deadlock. They didnв’t leave us any (almost) legal possibilities of the defense and of the constitutional struggle for our rights. Russia together with Lukashenka and their «opposition» had created a situation when the Belarusan people has an alternative: the armed struggle and the resistance against the destruction of our country or the slave death of the Belarusan nation. We almost donв’t have any legal methods of the struggle. Which conclusions do we have to draw? We have to use all the information possibilities in order to inform and enlighten our society. It is impossible to cultivate the political ideas in the vacuum. The ideas have to be in the heads (not in the archives). We must respect new Ukraine. We must concentrate our entire activity on the main campaign - the peopleв’s alternative to the regime. It is necessary to formulate and to declare that the next presidential elections in Belarus must be launched in accordance with the Low, i.e. without the participation of Lukashenka (he had exhausted completely his constitutional term and now he is occupying the post of the leader of the executive power illegally)».
Mr. Yuri Belenki, the acting chairman in Belarus of the Belarusan Popular Front «Adradzennie» and the Conservative Christian Party - BPF, and Mr. Siarhey Papkov, deputy chairman of the Front and the Party, told on the political and economical situation in Belarus. The members of the Soim discussed the problems of the political activity. The Soim has adopted the Statement «On the Subversive Actions Against the Belarusan People and the Policy of Liquidation of the Independent Belarusan State» (the text is added).
